Your role and responsibilities
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing our manufacturing processes through innovative layout development, simulation, and application of Lean manufacturing principles.
You will lead the assembly lines simulation using simulation software like FlexSim, streamline layout development processes, create and maintain 2D and 3D master layouts, and drive productivity improvements.
You will provide dedicated support for ongoing projects, and you will drive improvements in production of Instrument Transformers and Indoor & Outdoor products production in ELDS in Pinetops, North Carolina, USA (#LI-Onsite).
Utilize simulation software such as FlexSim to model and simulate assembly line processes - Analyze simulation results to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflow, and improve overall efficiency - Apply Lean manufacturing tools and principles to streamline layout development processes - Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify opportunities for improvement - Optimize people and materials flow, area utilization, and workstation design to enhance efficiency and productivity - Lead initiatives to improve overall productivity and efficiency within the manufacturing environment
Qualifications for the role
- University degree in Engineering degree, (Mechanical, Electronics, Control, and Automation)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing, layout development, simulation, or related fields
- Strong experience in layout development and optimization required
- Ability to work onsite in Pinetops, NC daily
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and / or Revit
- Proficiency in simulation software such as FlexSim or similar tools
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and their application in layout design and process optimization preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead change initiatives
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
