RESPONSIBILITIES :
Mother-Baby RNs consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients’, both mother and infant, care plans.
Mother-Baby RNs monitor the bonding between mother and infant and provide mothers with breastfeeding tips. Mother-Baby RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Mother Baby RNs maintain a comfortable, safe and clean environment for mother and infant
- Assist mothers with hygienic needs, checking for any postpartum bleeding, examining fundus and C-section incision (if applicable)
- Perform emotional status checks on mother, recognizing symptoms such as those related to postpartum depression
