Position Summary

Key responsibilities include :
Building relationships with students that communicate the importance of college success and your belief that they will succeed
Daily lesson planning to the Common Core Standards and student assessment data
Using data-driven techniques to set ambitious math goals for scholars
Collaborating with the Special Services team and Tutor Corps to build differentiated learning plans for all scholars
Maintaining consistent communications with families regarding student progress through phone calls, emails, and updated grade books.
Clearly and consistently communicating and upholding school rules, values, and expectations in and out of the classroom
Setting an urgent, respectful, and positive tone in the classroom
Displaying time management to maximize student learning
Building a collaborative, respectful classroom community
Competencies and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have proven success in implementing high-quality instruction that led to the improvement of student achievement in an urban school.
S / he will possess exceptional relationship building skills and the ability to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders.
Requirements :
State teaching certification, pending certification, or demonstration of qualifications to obtain certification (Long Term Substitute, DSAP, CSEP)
Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field
Teaching credential and authorization to teach art grades 6-8
2+ years experience teaching middle school art
A commitment to equity, student voice, and responsive teaching
Classroom management abilities
A strong belief that all students can succeed
The ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately
Identify what they need to be successful in their position
Clear understanding of their content and relevant teaching methods
Benefits :
Competitive starting salary : $50,000 + Based on Experience.
