Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for a Field Welder / Machinist based at our Hillsboro, OR location.
SUMMARY
This position performs welding and line-boring processes for repair and custom fabrication projects at in the weld shop and at customer sites.

Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
Travel to and from customer sites to perform maintenance and custom fabrication on equipment in the field.
Operate welding and cutting equipment such as, Torch, Welder, Grinder, manual lathes, Vertical mills, Horizontal mills, Portable line boring, and Drill presses along with various other machine tools.
Must be able to do prototype work to fabricate custom components and perform repair welds on components.
Modify new and used equipment as directed.
Write service reports that accurately document activities.
Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner to enable other employees to do their job in a timely manner.
Perform line boring operations in the weld shop and at customer sites.
Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
Follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.
Work overtime as needed within labor law guidelines.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field; and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in welding / fitting, preferably in a heavy industrial environment;
or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Commercial driver’s license and current DOT Medical Certificate is required
Lift truck operator certificate
