Overview This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations : North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.
This Business Credit Officer underwrites, evaluates, and decisions a broad range of business loan requests for the Credit Administration function of the Bank.
Reviews loan applications, including requests from nonstandard businesses, within established credit policies and procedures.
Identifies and structures credit grades as a result of application review. Provides support to field lending associates on credit policy and loan structuring through knowledge of credit policy, loan processes, and underwriting techniques.
Responsibilities Underwriting - Underwrites and evaluates a range of business requests, including nonstandard requests which may include, but are not limited to, churches, nonprofit organizations, and new ventures.
Structures workout credits including credit grade downgrades and troubled debt restructuring assignments. Responsible for evaluating automated clearing house over limit exceptions.
Business Support - Supports field lending associates both through department support center call line and directly answers questions and concerns regarding the status of applications, loan structuring, credit policy, and other matters related to small business lending.
Follows up on pending applications to ensure the timely disposition of all loan requests. Assists with special projects as requested.
Loan Proficiency - Maintains current knowledge of changes in bank credit policy, industry and economic trends, and underwriting techniques.
Underwrites small business loans in accordance with all required policies and regulations. Identifies loan requests pertaining to special loan programs and takes action appropriately.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Business and Commercial Underwriting with credit approval authority.
OR- High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Business and Commercial Underwriting with credit approval authority.
