Description :
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for managing all activities in regards to payroll and maintaining accurate records for processing payroll billings and reports in a timely and efficient manner.
Work is performed with a high level of technical supervision. There are supervisory duties assigned to the position.
- Assists the accounting department with organizing and directing the maintenance of the accounting system.
- Assist with payroll requirements needed for program and fiscal reviews for compliance with funding
- Follow procedural requirements and internal controls under direction of the CFO and accounting management
- Process payroll accurately in an efficient and timely manner. Assist any employee with questions regarding payroll their payroll.
- Monitors payroll accounts payable, payroll accounts receivables and payroll records for appropriate processing and recording.
- Prepares individual payroll payments and payroll reports for submission to external agencies.
- Provides technical and supportive assistance to the accounting, billing and bookkeeping staff.
- Prepares specialized reports and completes specialized projects as requested by management.
- Performs other duties assigned by the CFO and accounting management in keeping with the agency’s philosophy, purpose, priorities, goals and objectives.
Requirements :
Education : High School Diploma
Experience : Five or years experience as a bookkeeper or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting can be substituted for five years experience.
Associates Degree in Accounting can be substituted for two years experience. Knowledge of automated accounting systems, word processing programs and spreadsheet applications.
Other : Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of accounting, with emphasis on governmental and non-profit accounting systems and procedures.
Knowledge of office management procedures, practices and equipment as applied to accounting and auditing. Ability to adapt to new accounting procedures and methods to meet the agency’s needs.

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to use all office equipment.
- Must be able to visit all agency locations
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of individuals in the workplace
