Must-Have :
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry eligible program required.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety requirements and radiation safety guidelines.
Job Description :
- Perform MRI procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with high proficiency, including patient monitoring and transport equipment.
- Verify and examine requests and orders, consulting with the Radiologist as needed.
- Identify and assist patients using two patient identifiers, providing brief explanations of procedures.
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain complete medical histories and review pertinent clinical history.
- Administer IV contrast according to protocols and document contrast type and amount.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist when necessary.
- Recognize abnormal anatomy, process additional images, and perform measurements as instructed.
- Perform basic patient care functions and inform nursing personnel of any patient condition changes.
- Assist in medical emergencies, including code blue procedures.
- Follow proper sterile techniques during invasive procedures and adhere to infection control policies.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate supervisors and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Support other medical personnel during MRI scans and maintain knowledge of all MRI safety requirements.
- Attend in-service classes and complete all required safety modules.
This position demands physical effort, including lifting and moving patients and equipment, standing, walking, and the capability to use radiation safety guidelines effectively.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
