Do you enjoy helping solve interesting and complex problems? We’re looking for a US Bank Regulatory lawyer to :

Provide US bank legal and regulatory advice to UBS’ businesses in each region, division, branch, legal entity and UBS’ combined US operations.

Divisions include the Investment Bank, Global Wealth Management, Asset Management, the Americas Regional President function, and Group Functions, such as Compliance & Operational Risk Control, Regulatory Relations, Group Risk Control, Finance, and Group Treasury.

• Provide bank legal and regulatory expertise to assist in post-merger integration, planning, product development, structuring, bank regulatory reporting, bank regulatory matters, engagement with bank regulators, reviews of new business opportunities, and the execution of significant transactions.
• Instruct outside counsel as necessary.

Your team

You’ll be working in the AMER Bank Regulatory team in New York (NY) or Stamford (CT). We are an expert team that collaborates with highly motivated and experienced lawyers and stakeholders within the bank in an international environment.

Your expertise

• 5 or more years of relevant legal experience with a large US bank or US operations of a foreign bank, major law firm, and / or federal US bank regulatory agency.
• Licensed to practice law in the United States, including as In-House counsel, and in good standing.
• Strong working knowledge of federal US banking statutes, regulations and bank regulatory guidance, including the Bank Holding Company Act (BHCA), International Banking Act, the National Bank Act, the Volcker Rule (section 13 of the BHCA), as well as the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System's and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s relevant implementing regulations.

Knowledge of New York banking laws and regulations would be a plus.

• An understanding of financial services and investment banking, markets / trading businesses, asset and wealth management is desirable, as is knowledge of bank regulatory reporting and experience in interacting with banking regulators.
• Excellent analytical and advocacy skills, as well as the ability to interact with business and other stakeholders across all functions of UBS in a creative and productive manner.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Hardworking, proactive, capacity and willingness to balance multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal and other documents for compliance with US banking regulations.

Salary information

CA, CO, WA and NY based roles : The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 based on experience, education, and skill level.
