Job Title : Restaurant Office Manager

Location : Washington, DC

Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Office Manager to join our dynamic restaurant team in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll management, HR and legal compliance specific to the D.C. area, and a strong background in managing the hiring pipeline, including onboarding and offboarding processes.

This role requires a tech-savvy individual who is comfortable working in both MAC OS and Windows environments, and who can effectively maintain both paper and digital files.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Payroll Management : Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations. Manage employee records and payroll inquiries.
  • HR & Legal Compliance : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR laws and regulations specific to Washington, DC. Ensure all HR practices are compliant with local labor laws.
  • Hiring Pipeline Management : Facilitate the full cycle of recruitment, from job posting to onboarding new hires. Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure a smooth hiring process.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding : Develop and implement effective onboarding programs for new employees, and manage offboarding procedures for departing staff, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Organizational Management : Maintain organized paper and digital filing systems, ensuring easy access to important documents and records.
  • Collaboration : Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with restaurant management and staff to enhance operational efficiency and team cohesion.
  • Tech Proficiency : Utilize various software applications for payroll, HR, and office management tasks. Provide tech support to staff as needed, ensuring smooth operation of office technologies.
  • Physical Requirements : Comfortable with walking up and down stairs as part of daily responsibilities in a multi-level restaurant setting.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office management, HR, or payroll in the restaurant industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices and labor laws in Washington, DC.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HR management systems; experience with MAC OS and Windows.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, able to manage office inventory, paperwork and supplies independently
  • SPANISH KNOWLEDGE IS A MUST
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
