Summary
Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures by the administration of Radiopharmaceuticals. Maintains accurate patient records of administered radiopharmaceuticals for compliance with proper authorities.
Thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices and techniques. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to enable accurate patient positioning and ability to judge the acceptability of diagnostic images.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Completion of accredited Radiology Technology or Nuclear Medicine Program
Required Licenses / Certifications
Nuclear Medicine Certification by ARRT and / or NMTCB. MRT certification. CPR Certification

Good communication and customer service skills.

- Produces high quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment; assists practitioner with operation of radiation detection equipment;
- orders radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures and prepares them for injection, ingestion, or inhalation; identifies radioactive substance to complete procedures;
processes and files films as needed.
Education :
Required : Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
Experience :
Preferred : 1-3 years
Certifications :
Required : ARRT in Nuclear Medicine or CNMT; AHA BLS; state license if required.
