The Opportunity

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will help build the infrastructure and primary services that underpin our livestream shopping experience.

You will develop the backend architecture that supports our multi-sided platform, including APIs, databases, and cloud services.

This role is crucial in ensuring seamless and secure integration between our consumer mobile app and the B2B web platform for brands and influencers.

You will work with product, design, and commercial teams to define our holistic product vision and bring together brands, consumers, and influencers in an engaging and entertaining way.

You will report to the Tech Lead. This is a hybrid opportunity based in New York, NY. You will be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Your Impact

Backend Development : Independently develop, configure, and test backend services and APIs, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and maintainable.

Collaborate with other developers and the Tech Lead to solve technical challenges and remove any impediments.

• Database Design and Management : Design complex databases (PostgreSQL) to support both the consumer mobile app and the B2B web platform, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Cloud Infrastructure : Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions using Azure DevOps, ensuring high availability and performance.
• API Integration : Build APIs that facilitate communication between several frontend applications and backend services.
• DevOps and CI / CD : Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Mentorship and Collaboration : Coach peers on the tech team, through code reviews and pair programming, to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
• Iterative Improvement : Work iteratively with the team on improvements to the SDLC processes, estimating backlog items during refinement and planning sessions.

What You Bring

• Experience : 3+ years relevant experience with a master's degree OR 5+ years' experience with a bachelor's degree.
• Technical Proficiency : Required technical experience in Java Spring Boot, Azure DevOps, and PostgreSQL. Knowledge of frontend technologies (.

React Native, React, TypeScript) is a bonus but not essential for this role.

• Expertise in Best Practices : Experience with code refactoring, design patterns, test-driven development, continuous deployment, scalable applications, and application security.
• Project Management : Ability to contribute to the development of project plans, provide estimates, identify important milestones, and propose alternative solutions.
• Agile Methodology : Experience in Agile development practices (., XP, continuous integration, continuous delivery).
• Architectural Skills : Comfort with making architecture decisions at a team and product level, with the ability to align an organization on complex technical decisions.

Our compensation package is a combination of base salary, short-term annual bonus, long-term cash-based incentives and a Founder's Bonus for initial team members.

Base salary for this role ranges from $130,000-$160,000 plus the annual and long-term variable incentives noted. Salary ranges are general guideline only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications and geographic location and business and market conditions.

This compensation package provides rewards to you over-time based on company performance and personal success.
