Responsibilities
The Nurse Manager Behavioral Health (RN) will :
- Collaborates with Nursing Director to set and assess unit goals, acting as a link between nursing administration and medical staff
- Develops staffing plans based on utilization data, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and mix; oversees scheduling and approves overtime
- Recruits, hires, and manages staff; conducts performance evaluations and handles disciplinary actions in accordance with regulations
- Ensures safe patient care by enforcing professional standards, identifying staff training needs, and implementing improvement programs
- Communicates patient care information effectively to department staff; establishes and monitors patient care protocols
- Reviews and updates policies for regulatory compliance; implements changes and educates staff accordingly
- Manages quality assurance programs; identifies issues and implements improvement actions
- Assists in budget development and monitoring; optimizes resource allocation and cost efficiency
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or better in Registered Nurse
- NJS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory guidelines
- 5 years Psychiatric clinical nursing experience
- 2 years supervisory or charge nurse experience
- IV Therapy and BLS certifications
