Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, performance manage and supervise Assistant Manager of Racquet Centers, tennis & squash teaching professionals, racquet stringers, etc.
  • Indirectly supervises front desk staff, court supervisor staff, and night & weekend operations support staff. Ensure high quality of customer service;

timely, professional, and problem solving. Approve payroll as required.

Manage membership base and programming, seeking opportunities for maximum facilities utilization and funding sources to build profitability for both racquet centers.

Develop new revenue streams, process bulk facility rentals, organize tennis and squash tournaments. Manage external partnerships.

Manage tennis center and squash center budgets. Reconcile and prepare financial reports. Responsible for setting performance metrics, developing and executing business operations plan and standard operating procedures for racquet facilities.

Oversee direction of marketing / communication efforts and lead outreach and coordination of special events.

  • Serve as Tennis & Squash Summer Camp Director and manage all aspects of multi-week summer camps. Develop camp and clinic opportunities as part of youth programming throughout the remainder of the calendar year.
  • Manage customer / client management software (Fusion / Club Automation / Club Locker). Serve as product owner. Maintain yearly, all-inclusive racquet sports activity calendar by scheduling and maintaining weekly court schedule including all programs, lessons, intercollegiate needs, member & student court reservations, external rentals / contracts, etc.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A degree with an emphasis in sports management / administration, recreation, business administration, marketing, or other related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience playing racquet sports with a demonstrated ability to evaluate teaching professionals and players is required.
  • A strong background in customer service and risk management, as well as demonstrated knowledge of financial operations, preferably in higher education, is preferred.
  • Requires effective organizational, management, leadership, marketing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience of a diversified staff strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends required.
