JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Associate’s degree in computer programming from an accredited college or technical school.
Certification or Licensure : None Required
Skills : This position requires knowledge of all seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS) including commitment to students, knowledge of the job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving.
Working knowledge of the current student information system being utilized by RCSS. Proficient using Microsoft Office 2003 / 2007, map reading, and basic math skills required.
Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally. Full understanding of student scheduling, grade reporting, attendance, discipline, and demographic procedures.
Work Experience : At least two years of experience working with student information systems in a public school setting.
PRIMARY DUTY :
This position is responsible for providing software support and training to internal users of the student information system, assisting Information Technology staff with all state reporting requirements such as FTE, performing School zoning / boundary scenarios for the Richmond County School System, and producing enrollment projection results to assist Human Resources in the allotment of needed staff for subsequent school years.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Schedule and perform training sessions for new and existing SIS data entry clerks.
2. Assist I.T. in all state-mandated student reporting such as the FTE count and Student Record.
3. Assist School Data Entry Clerks by phone / email by providing solutions to incidents and problem management that the Data Clerks may experience with student recording and reporting.
4. Provide proactive recording and reporting techniques to assist with the FTE reporting process, to ensure students are coded correctly to maximize state funding.
5. Perform Student Enrollment Projections to assist Human Resources with teacher allotments for subsequent school years.
6. Using software, perform student zone / boundary management by creating various scenarios and providing statistical results to assist the Board and Administrators in making decisions on the placement of students within Richmond County.
7. May become necessary, in the event a school loses a data clerk, at critical periods of time within.
8. the school year, to assist the school in producing critical reporting documents such as report cards, if unable to do so remotely from the Central Office.
9. Assist I.T. in scheduling and / or executing programs and File Transfer Protocols of data to external software vendors or the state department of required student reporting information.
