About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - PCU Job Specialty : Ortho Neuro Surgical Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Experience : 1 year of nursing experience required License : Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing;
Registered Nurse license required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - EPIC experience for first-time travelers - Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips - Experience in Intermediate / Stepdown care and Neuro Job Description : Work in a mixed acuity unit with Intermediate Care acuity, Telemetry, and MedSurg patients.
- Surgical patient care includes urology, bowel obstructions, abdominal surgeries, and ortho trauma.- Neuro / Spine patient care includes CVA / TIA, neurovascular interventions, seizures, brain tumors, and spinal surgeries.
- General medical care involves patients with cellulitis, influenza, COVID, pneumonia, and renal or hepatic failure.- Provide wound care, telemetry monitoring, and manage various medical devices (e.
g., chest tubes, trach care, NGT tubes).- Perform drip titration for medications like Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone.
- Participate in a team-setting supporting pods of eight patients per RN.- Float to any adult inpatient unit as needed.- Attend 2-day orientation and additional unit-specific training.
- Schedule includes working up to 4 out of every 6 weekends.- Provide excellent patient care and comply with audits for pre / post pain scoring (must maintain 90% compliance).
