Pinnacle is looking for a motivated and qualified individual to join our firm. Continued strong growth has created opportunities for Industrial Engineers / Scientists in our Rochester, Minnesota office.
The qualified applicant selected for this position will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and experienced staff to meet the compliance and permitting needs of our industrial client base.
The position requires strong communication skills and knowledge base to bring comprehensive solutions to our client’s complex environmental problems.
The position will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects including air and water permitting, compliance reporting, facility assessments, and regulatory negotiations.
This position will involve increasing levels of client contact as the selected applicant becomes successful in integrating into the Pinnacle system.

Essential job duties : (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions) :
- Preparation of environmental permit applications and supporting calculations to meet State and Federal requirements.
- Preparing environmental compliance reports and plans (emission inventories, toxic release inventories, SPCC plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, etc.
in accordance with applicable permits and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting regulatory compliance audits to meet client internal needs.
- Communicating with State and Federal regulatory agencies as part of permit preparation and regulatory interpretation.
- Provide training for our client’s staff on the requirements associated with permits, plans, and reports.
- Ability and willingness to travel for field work or work at client sites.
- Completion of required safety training (i.e. 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training).
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related scientific degree.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- 3+ years of consulting industry experience preferred.
- FE certification and willingness to pursue a PE preferred.
- Interest in advancing to Project Manager / Client Manager preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities : This position has no initial supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment : This job operates in both office and field site settings.
Physical Demands ( The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job).
- The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and stand / walk for up to 8 hours each day.
- Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) is required for this position.
- Applicants must be able to work in out-of-office locations that may feature terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within industrial facilities.
- An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required prior to job placement.
- Safety training will be provided by Pinnacle.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.
m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel : Local and overnight travel is expected several times a year as needed.
