Software Architect

Allegion is looking for a Software Architect to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management.

You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

What you’ll do : Analyze

Analyze

Partner with product managers, subject matter experts, development teams, and other stakeholders to understandbusiness needs and technical implications.

Stay up to date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly those relating to infrastructure and development architectural issues

Proactively understand industry trends and how they affect the products and services you and your teams work on.

Research new technology and development tools to remain on top of current and emerging technology

Understand the compliance, security and regulation landscape and support business requirements in those areas

Design

Design and document the system, technical, and application architectures for major areas of development

Implement architectural frameworks in partnership with engineers to implement complex product features

Improve architecture in current systems and design future opportunities

Plan

Evaluate existing frameworks and develop a technical debt prevention plan to future proof the engineering team

Partnering with development teams in scoping, design and implementation of features ensuring the overall solution is optimal

Oversee technical trade-offs between technical and user facing futures

Define a technical roadmap that maximizes the use of advanced technology and seeks to further modernize

Ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner

Execute

Drive implementation based on defined architecture

Code solutions and help others do the same

Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and working day-to-day to provide technical guidance and work alongside engineering teams across Allegion

Mentor developers and other technical resources to help improve the quality of their work

Advocate for and implement automation in the development and testing processes to enhance efficiency

What you need to succeed :

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in years of relevant work experience

10+ years of relevant work experience

Team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals

Solid understanding of System design, message or event-based architecture and RESTful, GraphQL, or Pub / Sub APIs

Experience in Java based frameworks and technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Data / JPA and Spring cloud

Experience in design and development of highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run on premise or in cloud environments

Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and CI / CD automation

Experience writing architecture framework capabilities for use by development teams

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Experience with client applications progressive web applications and iOS and Android mobile applications

Experience working with remote teams

Compensation : This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

The expected Base Salary Range : $145,350 - $218,700. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
