Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 4 years of relevant experience preferred or High School Diploma / GED
- 5 years of experience in bank or financial services operations, preferably in a banking center or customer service environment
- 3 years of experience managing a team within an operations environment
- 3 years of experience with customer service, including working within 3rd party arrangements
- 3 years of experience understanding of accounting practices, from a bank operations standpoint
- 3 years of experience in risk management, including understanding client and bank risk factors present in financial transactions
- 2 years of experience working with legal agreements, including review, recommendations, and adherence to agreements
Job Description
Manager of BDS Operations
This position oversees the customer service, operational and risk related functions for two distinct and specialized strategic business units in either El Segundo, CA or Detroit, MI.
Primary responsibilities includes human resource management, transaction processing review and approvals, legal coordination of specialized contracts related to corporate escrow, title escrow, 1031 exchange, vendor payment programs and remote cashier check services.
Risk management is key to this role, including managing operational, financial, legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
Responsibilities : Team management
Team management
- Including all aspects of hiring, managing, training, and developing customer service / operational talent for area of responsibility.
- Communicate new policies and procedures, ensuring staff adherence to department functions, policies and procedures and following up on client and RM issues related to staff.
- Position also provides back-up management support to BDS National client Services and Operations Manager.
Risk and compliance management
- Including application ownership.
- Act in capacity of AML Risk Liaison.
- Responsible for legal and regulatory compliance management for specialized escrow and department processing agreements.
- Manage bi-annual audit related activities / responses, annual business continuity plans, bi-annual business impact analysis, and all User Access controls for areas of responsibility and affected employees.
Financial and revenue management
Oversight for billings for services rendered, general ledger and accounts receivable transaction reconcilements, client transaction reconcilement activities, interest rate and pricing management for BDS specialized products and services.
Project and Product Management oversight
- SME activities for assigned areas and products solely utilized by BDS Department client base.
- Provide project oversite on medium to large projects solely affecting BDS.
- Project involvement would also include BDS SME representation within large division and enterprise projects.
- Product Management activities would include working with vendors, technology services and other internal departments to ensure client delivery is consistent, and enhancement activities continue meet regulatory and policy requirements.
Salary Range
For candidates hired in the state of California, Colorado, Washington, New York the expected salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently :
California - $83,950 - $169,050 Annually
Salary Range(s) is subject to change. Comerica Bank takes several factors into account when determining individual starting pay.
These include but are not limited to position, grade level, location / metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.
