The Role
Our Research & Development Chemist will work closely with in a team of experienced EnergyX scientists in research and development.
They will have the opportunity to focus on disruptive materials, processes, and engineering systems to fundamentally transform the energy industry.
Our ideal candidate will have experience with supporting multiple R&D projects, collect and interpret scientific data, and be open to contributing feedback to assist with internal improvements to our product line.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing R&D investigations for new product / process development, product / process improvements, and maintenance of existing products through cost-saving analyses under the supervision of the project lead.
- Serves as a key technical team member to advance projects and achieve common goals.
- Familiarity with EnergyX Li extraction technologies and application testing.
- Gather and analyze data, refine experimental design, and recommend next steps.
- Capable of responding to technical questions and concerns from operation and engineering teams regarding development, application, and quality assurance.
- Communicate results effectively and write project reports.
- Operate, clean and calibrate equipment that requires professional judgement and background.
- Interprets and applies company policies and R&D procedures. Ensure compliance with EH&S regulations and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.
- 1-2 years laboratory experience through industrial projects.
- Experience in hydrometallurgy or related fields is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of material chemistry, separation and purification.
- Proficiency in common laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
