About the position :

ING is looking for a Vice President or Director level generalist sales professional who can operate across a wide spectrum of credit products including investment grade / High yield / cross-over credit, esoteric / high quality ABS, and various structured products including SRTs and RWA relief transactions for the Institutional Sales team in the Financial Markets division.

As part of the team you are responsible for the distribution of the full spectrum of credit products marketed by ING including esoteric / high quality ABS, investment grade, High yield / Cross-over and structured products.

An energetic individual with drive, commercial skills, and a profound understanding of investor needs, owning and managing prospective primary deals until closure of the deal and managing a portfolio of trading relationships.

The credit sales professional knows and sells the full suite of credit products. They gains a deep understanding of investor needs (e.

g. on pricing and asset characteristics) and communicates these internally to our internal credit value chain across DCM, trading and research, in order to optimize the efficiency of origination and market making.

This Sales professional works closely with the Structuring teams to structure deals in line with investor demands; this requires acquiring understanding of all different Distribution formats.

Particular focus will be given to candidates with Investment Grade and Cross-over experience although the ability to market all credit products is paramount.

About the department :

The Institutional Sales team is located across the three regions (Americas, Europe and Asia), and works closely with the FI Origination sales teams and report to the Head of Fixed Income Distribution in New York.

The team focuses on primary and secondary trading of Investment grade, Cross-over, High Yield and ABS securities with US investors.

Sales team will also assist in distributing European and APAC deals into US investors.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage investor relationships and engage in dialogue across different credit products and distribution formats
  • Generate orders and axes to facilitate secondary market opportunities together with our credit trading team.
  • Drive active dialogue with investors to deliver feedback for issuers about market demand and investor perception.
  • Attend client and industry events to position ING as a strong player in the credit space and keep informed of key trends
  • Be responsible for the sale of the full suite of credit products to investor base
  • Close cooperation with the Financial markets Institutional Sales team and sector coverage to ensure a growing ING share of wallet
  • Negotiate distribution deal format and price agreements with investors, balancing investor appetite with ING requirements
  • Conduct investor KYC in line with ING risk and KYC guidelines.

Education and Experience :

  • Ideal Director level candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, VP level candidate should have a minimum of 6 years on an institutional fixed income sales platform with expertise in a wide range of credit products with good current relationships or other relevant work experience in investor-facing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with negotiating complex deals
  • Experience managing a portfolio of client relationships.
  • At ease with managing processes with a both internal and senior external stakeholders
  • Experience in working with diverse investor base (across segments and geographies)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with preference for Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required. Series 24 preferred for Director level hire

Base Salary Range : Vice President - $230K - $250K, Director : $275K - $325K
