Behavior Coach
SUMMARY
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families? As a Behavioral Coach, you'll play a vital role in supporting and guiding individuals who are facing mild to moderate mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression.
In this rewarding position, you will provide skills training to both child and parent participants, equipping them with practical techniques and methods to improve behaviors and enhance social interactions.
Your focus will be on teaching children, ages 6-17, essential socialization skills that foster positive relationships within peer groups and the broader community.
By implementing targeted behavior intervention plans, you will help decrease disruptive and maladaptive behaviors, ensuring that these children have successful and enriching social experiences.
Additionally, you’ll offer personalized consultation to parents, empowering them with effective teaching strategies and behavior management approaches to use at home, bridging the gap between weekly group meetings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver engaging and impactful skills training sessions to children and parents.
- Design and implement individualized behavior intervention plans to address specific needs.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages positive behavioral change and social growth.
- Provide expert guidance to parents on strategies for managing and improving child behaviors at home.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
Alternatively, 1 year of direct experience working with children, adolescents, or families dealing with behavioral difficulties.
- Expertise : Proven experience in implementing behavioral interventions with a working knowledge of related techniques.
- Licenses : Possession of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for automobile insurance.
- Certification : Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, and certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Language Skills : Bilingual in English / Spanish is preferred, especially for serving diverse populations.
- Professionalism : Must be at least 21 years of age, maintain a professional appearance (business casual attire), and demonstrate strong time-management and punctuality skills.
- Communication : Excellent phone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Customer Service : Driven by a commitment to providing outstanding customer service, with the ability to multi-task effectively.
- Tech-Savvy : Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
