Client Data, Senior Product Manager

We are looking for a senior-level product manager with deep knowledge of the financial asset management business. This role will be aligned to our internal Client Data Strategy team.
The product manager will be responsible for leading our strategic initiative to capture, attribute and report our global AUM down to the client level across all asset classes and vehicles worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Own the functional design and delivery of our proprietary sales data management and reporting solution
- Facilitate communication and gather requirements from stakeholders across various businesses and operating units (e.g., Business Analytics, Client Coverage, Finance, Operations and CRM & Sales Enablement)
- Lead the prioritization of the book of work by understanding stakeholder priorities, and balance timelines, development effort and operational impact against those priorities
- Work in close partnership with other technical teams and vendors on cross functional projects and to integrate data from multiple sources
- Evaluate new data sources, coordinate acquisition of that data, and deliver that data through the platform
Qualifications
- Knowledge about the global distribution of various investment vehicles such as Mutual Funds, UCITS, Managed / Separate accounts, and Alternatives
- Strong understanding of Flows and Position data attribution and reporting in the Distribution space
- Proven ability to manage data streams from diverse sources, including transfer agents, custodians, clearing firms, and record-keeping platforms with an understanding of the unique characteristics and formats of data provided by each source
- Experience in developing processes to integrate and harmonize data with varying levels of granularity and transparency
- Track record of successfully onboarding and integrating data sets from third-party sources like Broadridge, SS&C, Discovery, AllFunds etc.
with the internal data sets.
- Expertise in assessing the feasibility of building in-house solutions versus procuring third-party software for sales data management
- Strong BA capabilities and experience :
- Create business requirements artifacts by distilling users asks into needs
- Partner with users and the development team to write detailed stories
- Document current and future data flows and dependencies
- Champion defect free delivery prior to UAT
- Support users in UAT
- Provide training to other team members and user community
- Ensure effective communication between users and development team
- Provide post production support by working closely with the Application Support Team
- Identify key areas that needs automation and look for opportunities to further reduce operational overhead
- Technical proficiency in SQL
- Ability to operate in an Agile environment
- Tableau experience is a plus
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing processes and timelines.
- Must be able to interpret and analyze large sets of data for complex business situations and understand the implication to team.
- Proven ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple, complex responsibilities, and be effective working autonomously to meet multiple deadlines.
- This position requires independent judgment, strong critical thinking, creative problem solving, and timely and sound decision-making abilities
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $160,000-$180,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City.
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical / dental / vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
