Job Description
BAM Re is seeking a Vice President to join our New York-based investment team. The Vice President of Asset Allocation will play a key role developing and executing portfolio strategy alongside BAM Re’s senior leadership team through involvement in the creation of strategic asset allocation, new business pricing, and relative value analysis spanning the complete fixed income universe.
In this role, the Vice President of Asset Allocation will lead ongoing management of the existing life, annuities, and pension-risk transfer general account as well execute on the deployment of new premium each year.
Key Accountabilities
Lead development of asset allocation and deployment plans for investment portfolios backing life, annuities, and pension risk-transfer liabilities by working closely in tandem with BAM Re senior leadership and BAM Re credit teams
Lead initiatives for in-force income enhancement and capital optimization and report on relevant metrics around risk, liquidity and capital
Oversee day-to-day execution of investment portfolio
Report on performance, portfolio updates, and other views to both internal and external parties
Lead and develop team and ensure that staffing and skills are aligned with broader business needs
Coordinate with the actuarial and finance teams on providing investment assumptions for actuarial modeling and business planning
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record, degree in a quantitative field of study a plus
5-10 years of insurance asset allocation, portfolio management, asset-liability management, or cross asset class experience
Strong capabilities in MS Excel, familiarity with programming languages preferred
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and motivation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range : $200,000 - $250,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
