Location : Endocrinology / Diabetes Clinic
Shift Available : M-F, 8-5pm (no call, no holidays or weekends)
General Description : Under general supervision provides preventative and health care to an assigned group of patients or clients in an OU Health facility.
Essential Responsibilities :

- Administers medications safely under direction of physician or other medical personnel
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Provide care according to an established nursing plan.
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
- Ensures patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forwarding charts as appropriate
- Communicates systematic report to other care providers.
- Assisting in the coordination of care delivery; utilizes resources to promote the continuum of care.
- Employs strategies to promote health in a safe environment.
- Documents progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
- Uses quality and evidence based practice to deliver and improve care.
- Works closely with more experienced clinicians for guidance and supervision.
- Triage telephone calls for referral to other clinical team members

Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Graduation from an approved License Practical Nurse program.
Experience : None
License(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : Current LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact LPN License (eNLC) required.
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, plan and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.
- Must be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
