Medical Interpretation Training Coordinator and Instructor

Southern NH AHEC is looking for a motivated person to act as an instructor for medical and legal interpretation training programs.

The Southern NH AHEC strives to build a workforce in NH to meet the language and communication access needs of our communities.

This position will improve the supply and distribution of trained interpreters and provide training on how to work with interpreters to health care professionals.

This position is part time and may be combined with other activities to create a full- time position as possible.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Acts as instructor for specific trainings.
  • Conducts research on existing medical interpretation training programs and services, including curriculum, certification standards, recruitment services, and service delivery systems to stay up to date on current best practices.
  • Conducts outreach and recruitment for training participants
  • Utilize online technologies such as Zoom, Canva, and others as applicable for online class instruction.
  • Drafts procedures, timelines, and systems for processes, events, and projects related to medical interpretation project.
  • Coordinates development of survey instruments, processes data, analyzes results, and compiles recommendations for future activities.
  • Offers training and technical assistance to health care professionals.

Qualifications :

Position requires a highly motivated individual with strong computer skills who is capable of working independently, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Demonstrated experience with word-processing, spreadsheets and databases. Strong written and oral communication skills are important.

  • A candidate for this position should be a trained interpreter with 3-5 years of experience as an Interpreter.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Position requires a commitment to equity and a non-judgmental attitude.
