Description
Our client, a leading construction company, is currently seeking an accomplished Accountant to join the team. Here is an overview of the role :
1) Maintain and manage financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll
2) Assist in the creation and management of budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis to support project planning and financial decision-making
3) Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports for management review
4) Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company procedures, and relevant regulations
5) Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors for timely audits and accurate tax filings
6) Monitor and control project costs, conduct cost-benefit analyses and suggest strategies to minimize expenses without compromising quality
7) Oversee payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all employees, including contractors and subcontractors
8) Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support operational decisions, project profitability and resource allocation
9) Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts and ensure timely payment processing
10) Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial operations
11) Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights, guidance and support in decision-making processes
Critical Requirements
3) Recent experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in accounting
