Job Summary
Supports the efforts of the Facilities Development I.S. Infrastructure Project Manager in project management of Information Services (I.
S.) infrastructure for facilities projects for PH. Provides technical guidance and planning management as required for desktop computing, cabling and telecommunications equipment, network equipment and IP addresses, software applications, computers, printers and other network devices.
Specific responsibilities include the installation of Network and Telephony Cabling, resolution of on demand customer requests and support of desktop operating systems and applications of active FD projects and relocations.
Also, participates in the personnel relocation process for desktop devices including computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, and copiers.
Accountabilities
- Coordinates the actions and duties of contractors and vendors on a daily basis. 35%
- Completes required documentation for new work, insures infection control, safety policies, and required permitting are in place for work performed.
Completes cabling installation closeout documentation, and work order approval. 15%
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications. Supports and troubleshoots network connectivity for client workstations and peripheral devices.10%
- Receives and resolves user problems and requests relating to cabling related issues in compliance with Information Services Service Level Agreements.10%
- Supports and troubleshoots desktop and network applications for assigned Facilities Development projects, and relocations.
Coordinates with IS Service Center for resolution. 10%
- Enhances professional growth and development through professional affiliations, training, workshops and review of technical literature.5%
- Develops and maintains preventative maintenance program for telecommunications rooms and spaces. 5%
- Maintains department records, reports, and files as required and assists in preparing reports by compiling information. 5%
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. 5%
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years - Installation of or oversight of Network and Telephony cabling and / or, personal computer support and management.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Network peripherals and printers - Preferred
Windows XP and Windows 7 - Preferred
Telephony and / or Networking experience - Required
Healthcare experience - Preferred
Bachelor's or Technical degree in information technology field - Preferred
Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Certification - Preferred
