Job Description
The primary responsibility of a Security Officer at Jackson Hospital is the protection of all persons and property connected with the hospital.
He / she works to assure the safety and general welfare of all staff, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
Education :
High School graduate or GED
Experience :
Previous law enforcement, military service or security experience preferred
Licenses, Certifications and / or Registrations :
Valid Alabama Driver’s License
Have and maintain a clean driving record
Pass a background check
Equipment / Tools / Work Aids :
Hospital master keys, handcuffs, radio (walkie talkie), camera, flashlight, jumper cables, slim jim, and hospital vehicles.
Specialized Skills :
Working knowledge of; computers, cameras, metal detectors and surveillance equipment.
Physical Requirements :
Must be physically able to detain, restrain, when necessary for the protection of self and others. Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods;
must be able to do lifting.
