SUMMARY :
This position is a full time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) , Mission Training Complexes (MTCs) and other DOD locations.
The Higher Command Support Team Aviation / G3 Air (AGA) SME will teach, coach, and train ARNG Division and Brigade Commanders and Staff counterparts with the Aviation asset (manned and unmanned) management, coordination, integration, and regulation of the use of airspace effects into planning, training, readiness within Joint Multi-Domain Operations ( J MDO) and Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) context .
May support work originating from any / all the MTC locations .
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
- Replicate the AGA as part of the Movement and Maneuver Warfighting Function (WFF) and serve as the Higher Command (HICOM) AGA staff principle.
- Teach / Train / Coach the AGA to p lan, coordinates, and assesses Aviation offensive, defensive, and support requirements.
Plans and coordinates Aviation / Airspace management operations across functional and integrating cells.
- Teach / Train / Coach the AGA to enable airspace control of users within airspace of responsibility; responsible for aviation plans and integration of Airspace Command and Control (AC2) for all division manned aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations .
- Teach / Train / Coach the AGA to conduct the planning, coordinating, and synchronizing rotary winged aircraft and UAS supporting the operations of the division as well as other supported units.
- Teach / Train / Coach the AGA the r esponsibi lity for assisting in the leadership, management, and development of all assigned Officers, NCOs, and Soldiers conducting aviation operations, airspace management, and air mission request processing.
- Teach / Train / Coach the AGA to c onduct coordination on a regular basis with subordinate Brigade S3 Aviation Officers and other division staff personnel to ensure synchronization of all division aviation operations.
- Participate and enable a tactical battle-rhythm consisting of key HICOM Meetings, Boards, and Working Groups that drive training unit Mission Command C2 processes.
- HICOM battle rhythm events will include Battlefield Update Briefings; Commander’s Update Briefings; Targeting Meetings; ISR Synchronization Meetings;
Sustainment Boards, Protection Boards, OPS Sync, etc.
Assist in the deliver y of daily Air Tasking Orders (ATO); Operational Summaries (OPSUMS ), Operations Plans and Orders (OPLANS and OPORDS);
Warning and Fragmentary Orders (WARNORDS and FRAGORDS).
- Prepare and issue all Joint Exercise Lifecyle (JELC) Products in analog format, and digitally via the appropriate Command and Control I nformation System s (C2IS) (CPCE, CPOF, DCGS-A, AFATDS, TAIS, AMDWS, JCR, etc.).
- Coordinate, train, and manage HICOM augmenter’s that are provided by the training unit’s State JFHQ or a sister unit within the State.
- Prepare , submit input, and participate in informal and formal exercise After Action Reviews.
- Integrate AGA into the overarching road-to-war scenario to include higher headquarters TACSOPS, PSOPS, and KM SOPS; WARNORDS, OPORDS, and FRAGORDS in accordance with established timelines.
- Assist in the development of a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) for non-simulation supported training objectives requiring manual injects to stimulate.
- Support pre-exercise staff exercises (STAFFEX) in training Commanders and Staff in Operational Design, the Operations Process, Joint Multi-Domain Operations, the Military Decision Making Process, Command Post Operations, Role-Duties-Functions of Command Post Personnel, and other such topics to meet Commander’s training objectives .
Prepare units to effectively conduct Mission Command, and command and control processes.
Prepare all JELC related products to ensure robust replication and immersion of the training audience within a Joint Multi-Domain Operational Environment and r esulting in an exercise that sets the context for doctrinally precise, realistic, demanding , and high-tempo Unified Land Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must have a background of at least twenty (20) years of experience in the Army (active Army , Army Reserve or A rmy National Guard) and a minimum of two (2) years of experience with exercise planning using the JELC process.
- Must have senior Army leadership experience with positions in training management backgrounds and Combat Training Center experience.
- Must have successfully served as a Division G 3 Air, or Corps / JTF Air .
- Desired; have successfully commanded at the Aviation Battalion (Brigade level command preferred ) .
- Experienced in large-scale live and constructive exercises, a doctrinal expert within the respective DIV G3 Air , o r Corps / JTF Air , and familiar with Army Command and Control Information Systems.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Must have a MS or MA degree, subject immaterial. Graduate of a military Senior Service College, preferred.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
