The Buyer / Planner will plan, routinely schedule and release purchase and production orders, as well as coordinating and monitoring the flow of products through the complete manufacturing cycle.
Works on a wide variety of complex planning activities where material requirements are new or variable. Interfaces with Production, Marketing, Customer Service, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Manufacturing Engineering to solve customer or production issues.
Responsibilities will include managing the global build plans and review for accuracy and populated with the manufacturing commitment each month.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all workorders are opened and subsequently closed on a monthly basis in accordance with policy and support of Financial, Production, and Inventory obligations.
What will you be doing?
Manage the demand flow of material thorough the planning, procurement and manufacturing cycle to finished goods. Analyze forecast and inventory levels to identify medium to long-range material and capacity issues.
Communicates shifts in demand and inventory that could impact production or shipments.
- Create, maintain and execute Kanban within planning tool; assisting suppliers with the development of safety stock, delivery (Kanban trigger) size, lead times and frequency of shipments.
- Monitors component and finished products for changes in demand and an ongoing list for evaluations.
- Creation of shop and purchase orders to support the production plan and forecast.
- Monitors flow of products through the manufacturing cycle to ensure timely receipt of material to meet requirements.
- Track and report material shortages, late purchase and production orders to reschedule as necessary.
- Supports and participates in site Kaizen events.
What will you need to be successful?
- Education : Bachelor s Degree is required
- Experience : Minimum 1-3 years of procurement / purchasing experience
- APICs certifications preferred
- Previous SAP, Ariba and Excel experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills, ability to learn quickly
- Physical Demands : Ability to work in an office environment and operate a computer for extended periods of time. Lift and / or transport boxes for storage requirements.
