License : Registered Nurse License
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

- Hemodynamic lines (A-lines / CVP)
- Cardiac rhythm recognition
- Chest tubes
- Tracheostomy care
- Strong assessment skills
Job Description :
- Perform duties in a Level II Trauma Center with 26 ICU beds.
- Manage patients with medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, interventional needs.
- Conduct ICP monitoring, and manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and spinal precautions.
- Handle cases of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), multi-system trauma, sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), COVID-19, pneumonia (PNA), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and stroke.
- Maintain a 1 : 2 patient-to-nurse ratio, with the possibility of managing a third patient under specific circumstances.
- Engage in resourceful communication with Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse / House Supervisor, Respiratory Therapist, Hospitalist, Intensivist, and Trauma Surgery team.
- Partake in general hospital orientation, followed by one shift on the unit.
- Adhere to the weekend rotation schedule, with assignments typically every other weekend.
- Submit holiday requests for managerial approval.
- Demonstrate flexibility in floating assignments to Cardiac Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Stepdown, or Medical Stepdown, and potentially PICU for those with pediatric experience.
- Utilize Cerner, Alaris, and Pyxis charting system.
Please note that this position does not require being on-call. Scheduling will vary based on holiday needs, and all holiday requests should be discussed with the manager for approval.
