Job Details
- Registered Nurse position at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
- Specialty area : C43 Medicine.
- 36-hour work week with 12-hour shifts, either nights or days.
- Assignment scope includes MED / SURG, MS / TELE, and various other skills.
- Facility type : Short Term Acute Care and Teaching Hospital.
- Total staffed beds : 402.
- Charting system used : Cerner.
- Minimum experience requirement : 2 years and 1 prior travel assignment.
Job Requirements
- Must have a DC nursing license in hand.
- Required : BLS certification.
- Skills required include accessing ports, pre / post neurosurgery, peripheral nerve block catheters, and more.
- Skills preferred include colostomy care, feeding tube management, pre / post hemodialysis management, and more.
- Every other weekend work required.
- Float requirements applicable.
- Must be able to manage any medical surgical diagnoses.
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
- May come into contact with Covid Patients.
Schedule Information
- 36-hour work week with 12-hour shifts night or day.
- Must be willing to work every other weekend.
Unit Specific Information
- Unit deals with various medical surgical diagnoses.
- Candidate may need to manage patients with chest tubes, wound care, and other situations.
Additional Details
- A valid driver's license may be required for certain job functions.
- Flu vaccine required for all employees.
- E-Verify and I9 verification required upon hire.
- ACLS certification required for specific units.
- PALS certification required for ED or Pediatrics.
- NRP, TNCC, EFM, and other certifications as required by unit description.
