CALIBRE, an employee-owned management consulting and digital transformation company is looking for a Network Engineer, to support business systems infrastructure.
The Network Engineer I shall perform their duties as the first level of support for all network, phone, and security resources for CALIBRE.
They will support implementation of network engineering solutions to include installing, maintaining, and monitoring the operation of an organization’s local and / or wide area network.
They will contribute to and follow policies, standards, and security procedures as a member of the IT Engineering team. They will provide Tier 1 & 2 network support to all incoming service requests within SLA’s, in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
They will support the Help Desk Manager and escalate to senior engineering resources when necessary. They will provide on-call support on rotation with other staff (24x7x365).
They will assist in the development and updating of topology and network diagrams in order to maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
Required Skills
A Network Engineer I responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- IT Helpdesk Support : Timely processing and resolving network related customer support requests (trouble tickets)
- 24x7x365 (on call rotation) response to problems that effect system availability (Tier 1 & 2)
- Resolving network, telephony, and cellular related hardware and software failures (Tier 1 & 2)
- Timely escalation of unresolved network outages in accordance with Network Engineering SOP
- Evaluating and reporting network performance (EMS monitoring)
- Ensuring network limits are not exceeded (EMS monitoring)
- Ensuring 99.9% network uptime
- Performing network, telephony and cellular configuration tasks (. Configuration of requested systems)
- Configuration management; basic troubleshooting, network monitoring and application troubleshooting.
- Performing proactive / reactive maintenance and troubleshooting (Tier 1 & 2)
- Performing documentation maintenance updates (. Run-books, operational guides, technical notes, configuration)
- Maintain, read and review diagrams, system topology diagrams, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), troubleshooting guides,
- Contribute to Risk Analysis reports, contingency plans, security reviews and compliance documentation
required Experience
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desired experience :
Helpdesk Experience, a wide-array of networking background, strong writing capabilities, and experience with Microsoft Project and Visio (or equivalent software).
Desirable Certifications include Security+, Network+ or Cisco CENT.
