Sales director responsibilities involve creating key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans. You will also be responsible for hiring the appropriate sales team members and meeting sales targets together.

Successful execution of these strategies is necessary in order to reach financial targets. Sales director duties may include hitting annual goals, building relationships with clients and understanding trends within B2B clients' demographics.

An excellent Sales Director should oversee an organization's marketing ventures. This involves formulating and executing plans that strengthen its presence on the market while finding its "voice."

Ideal candidates will be experienced professionals with a passion for the job who are adept at employing unique marketing techniques and inspiring creativity and enthusiasm from others.

You should possess superior strategic capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Annual Sales Targets : Own and surpass annual sales targets within the assigned territory and accounts, Ensure the individual and sales team meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Strategic Planning : Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
  • Customer Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, enduring customer relationships, Partner with customers to comprehend their business needs and objectives.
  • Communication Excellence : Effectively communicate the value proposition through compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Market Awareness : Understand category-specific landscapes and trends; report on factors influencing tactical budgets and the strategic direction of accounts.
  • Team Leadership : Create an inspiring team environment fostering open communication. Set clear team goals.
  • Task Delegation : Delegate tasks efficiently and establish deadlines for the team.
  • Operational Oversight : Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Performance Monitoring : Monitor team performance and provide regular metrics reports.
  • Motivation : Motivate team members to achieve their best performance.
  • Training and Coaching : Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance team skills.
  • Issue Resolution : Listen to team members' feedback and promptly resolve any issues or conflicts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree : A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related field is commonly required.
  • Master's Degree (Preferred) : While not always mandatory, having a master's degree, especially in business administration or a specialized area related to the industry, can be a significant advantage.
  • Sales and Marketing Courses : Candidates with additional certifications or courses in sales and marketing techniques, CRM, and digital marketing can stand out.
  • Leadership and Management Training : Given the seniority of the Sales Director role, candidates benefit from leadership and management training programs.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge : Depending on the industry focus, candidates may need industry-specific knowledge.

Job Location : Moris Media operates in a hybrid mode, allowing work from home based on geography, with reimbursement for required travel.

Experience

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Previous roles as a sales executive, sales manager, or sales and marketing director.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels, including executive and C-level.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from planning to closure.
  • Ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
  • Proven ability to position products effectively against competitors.
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
