Summary
The Polysomnographic technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
The technologist should be registered in sleep technology or be eligible to sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire.
The Medical University of South Carolina Sleep Center is located in Charleston at the main hospital. It is accredited by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Job Description
Under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders.
Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis.
