As a Director of Cybersecurity Architecture at JPMorgan Chase within the Cyber and Tech Controls line of business, you lead a specific architecture area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments.
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of architecture, systems, applications, security concepts, and product management to lead multiple complex projects and initiatives, make key decisions, and drive innovation in risk identification and creative problem solving.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance and prioritization for immediate team of architects and engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Defines the technical target state of the product architecture and design and drives achievement of the strategy
- Delivers threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities in product design and provide control recommendations to mitigate those risks and identifies security risks and emerging threats associated with the product as well as any dependencies
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional architecture objectives and briefs stakeholders on key security risks and emerging threats associated with the product, technology stack, and customer base
- Manages onboarding, reporting and relationships with third party vendors and service providers for a range of email security solutions
- Sets strategy for cultivating skills in cybersecurity architects
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements and manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Is accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Develops the function’s objectives and accountable for outcomes
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, and prioritizes diverse representation
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, acquisition, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of cybersecurity designs, technical approaches for integration with existing systems and cybersecurity architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on cybersecurity architecture concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Experience building cybersecurity products and solutions for public cloud-based applications and infrastructure
- Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge as it relates to Email Security technologies, to include but not limited to : authentication mechanisms (SPF, DKIM & DMARC), encryption, gateway solutions, virtualization and SaaS
- Excellent command of Cybersecurity organization practices, operations risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, threats and vulnerabilities preferred for the role
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple time sensitive projects concurrently, build consensus with stakeholders who may have divergent definitions of success and iterate to remove blockers and solve for novel technical challenges
- Proficiency in articulating complex technical concepts, both orally and in writing, in simple terms for a wide variety of stakeholders across varying degrees of depth
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices and methodologies, which may include tools like JIRA Align and other industry-standard workflows, to streamline project management and optimize team collaboration
