Job Description :
Hours per week : 40 Monday-Friday school hours (most schools are 7 : 30-2 : 30, 8-3, 8 : 30-3 : 30)
C aseload : 80 Direct shared between OTR and COTA (There may be indirect students as well) We try hard to keep caseloads equal amongst all teams.
We have currently 4 OT / 4 OTA teams. Vacancies are included in this number. 1 full time OTR, 2 full time COTA positions to fill
Age ranges : preschool 8
grade
Types of disabilities : Autism, CP, developmental delays, and other school-based diagnoses.
Extra info : We have an amazing motor team who is extremely collaborative. This position will be working on a few different campuses that include special programs (autism and developmental preschool) as well as general education students.
We have access to many different therapy tools and typically campuses are very supportive of related services.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assists OTR with screenings, assessments and Occupational Therapy services
- Prepare therapy materials
- Adapts and modifies structural materials
- Planning for and providing targeted therapy for a variety of children on your caseload
- Proper daily note taking using electronic documentation platforms
- Maintain Client caseload
- Progress Reporting
Job Requirements :
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Licensed in the State of Arizona - must be in good standing
- 18 years or older
- Experience working with children of all ages and with a variety of disorder areas
- The ability to build strong relationships with children and parents
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Creativity and flexibility
