STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
- Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
- Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for :
- Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire / safety / disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and / or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
- Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee and operations data
- Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior
- Supports and participates in common teamwork :
- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, furniture in an orderly fashion.
- Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
- Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
- Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
- Clean spills or accidents in any areas as they occur.
- Resident apartments : clean kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room.
- Disinfects mattresses, dusts bed frames and nightstands.
- Routinely checks cleaning list for possible changes in assignment.
- Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions, spills, excess carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.
- Follows all safety procedures and guidelines as outlined by facility and the Director of Environmental Services.
- Maintain dignity and respect for residents’ personal and property rights
