Job Overview
The incumbent is responsible for painting, protective coating, and redecorating walls, woodwork, fixtures, and repairing and replacing wall coverings.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :
- Paints and redecorates walls, woodwork, and fixtures of an establishment.
- Assesses surface peculiarities and specific preparation for various types of paint required for different applications including, metal, wood, concrete, sheetrock, and epoxy-based coatings.
- Prepares surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices and applying paint with spray gun or brush.
- May mix colors, oils, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory :
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Lead-based Paint Handling Certification as Required by State Requirement.
- Certifications, As Required by State of Alabama in the Performance of Lead Paint Inspections or in the Abatement Activities (40 Hour EPA / DSHS Accredited Certification).
- Government Vehicle Operators License as Required by State Requirement.
- CDL HazMat Endorsement as Required by State Requirement.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification / common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid Alabama state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and / or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
