Title : Entrepreneurial Ecosystem / Social Network Researcher
Where : NDSU College of Business, Fargo, ND.
Duration : 2 years, Starting August / September 2024

This position is funded through the NSF Engines : North Dakota Advanced Agriculture Technology Engine supported by the U.
S. The National Science Foundation (award #2315315).The aim of this fellowship is to assist Dr. Josh Marineau in the study of the local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The immediate study will focus on capturing the evolution, growth, and change of the broader ecosystem through meaningful and reliable measurement of the social networks of individuals, groups, and organizations.
However, other research questions will also be pursued, such as evaluating the effectiveness of Engine programs and activities.
Fellows will be encouraged to pursue their own research questions as well.
The candidate is expected to :
- Assist in the development of novel methodology for the collection of social networks and relevant data at multiple levels of analysis (individual, organization, community).
- Participate in the collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Assist in the writing of various reports and papers for diverse audiences (industry, NSF, academic, etc.)
- Teach 2 courses per year in the NDSU College of Business (topics TBD)
The candidate should have a topical interest in social networks and social network analysis at the individual, organizational, and / or community level.
Successful candidates will be well-versed in social network methods and analysis.
Requirements : Must have completed training at the doctoral level within five years of the position’s start date. PhD from a variety of business administrative fields are welcomed to apply, such as management, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, strategy, and human resources.
Fields outside business administration with expertise in social networks, such as sociology and psychology are also welcome to apply.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
A strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise in social network analysis, exponential random graph models, graph theory, relational event analysis, and / or statistical programming (R, C, Python, etc.
Preference will also be given to candidates with proven ability to teach undergraduate and / or graduate management topics (OB, strategy, entrepreneurship, etc.).
