Description

Responsible for data governance strategy development, the director of Data Governance leads data governance, analytics, and vendor relationships.

Interface with executives and represent their interests to the broader organization while ensuring the collective business objectives are prioritized.

Ensures meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses is provided addressing impactful business issues or questions, combined with subject-matter expertise to deliver coherent, insightful takeaways comprehensive read-outs, and advice / recommendations grounded in what our data is telling us.

Does all of the above by recruiting, retaining and enabling team members to do their best and most meaningful work with a supportive and team-driven approach to delivering value to our customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data analytics, software engineering, information technology, or related field. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

10 years of related experience, including prior management experience or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position (Required)

Required Skills / Knowledge

One or more of the following skills are desired : Business Intelligence; Data Analysis; Microsoft Azure; Data Governance;

AI Governance; SQL (Programming Language); Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS)

Functional Accountabilities

  • Establish the right business capabilities model and architecture, with relational hierarchies, transformation roadmaps and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Leads the product portfolio and life cycle rationalization and consolidation initiatives.
  • Establishes the detailed RACI matrix for all critical data interfaces, clearly defining the swim lanes and handover processes with measurable deliverables.
  • Ensuring there is proper alignment and clearly established single point of contacts and governance teams.
  • Implements the methodology, framework, conceptual definitions, toolkits, process and documentation standards, functional training, and upskilling for an enterprise transition to data as a product including all capabilities required across the data supply chain.
  • Layering the latest tooling in AI / ML to support actionable insights and nudge solutions.
  • Build a "learn fast" team culture including clear accountability and a drive toward outcomes while ensuring teams can learn quickly in a safe environment.
  • Work across businesses to prioritize data governance needs while working cross-functionally to identify opportunities for integration
  • Lead tactical planning, development, and implementation of data governance systems, including engaging cross-functional stakeholders, collecting business requirements, completing vendor selections, and building proposals for capital expenditures related to Data Governance.
  • Build and implement Data Governance Framework that includes strategic priorities for development of information and data-based capabilities
  • Serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, IT, and privacy issues and work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets
  • Oversee data systems, including vendor oversight and testing for comprehensive disaster recovery plans
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
