Job Description
General Description : Claims, Insurance & Litigation Coordinator reports to OUH’s Chief Legal Counsel and is responsible for coordinating all professional liability claims and will work with other attorneys in the Office of the Chief Legal Officer for the management of all other claims, including but not limited to general liability, D&O, automobile and property claims and will work closely with the Patient Safety and Experience Departments.
This role involves maintaining detailed tracking logs, executing specialized processing tasks, and facilitating communication with external parties.
Essential Responsibilities :
Accept subpoenas.
Issue COI and Claims History Letters.
Report claims to insurance carriers.
Coordinate and respond to record requests.
Administer the claims / incident / reserve data basis.
Support and schedule Reserve & Settlement committees.
Oversee completion of insurance applications.
Act as point of contact for outside law firms in scheduling of OU Health parties and witnesses
Process legal and litigation expenses for payment.
Track deductibles.
Administers various processes that support the Company’s management of litigation.
Supports in-house litigation counsel on subpoena responses and discovery matters.
Prepares and responds to email and mail correspondence for in-house litigation counsel.
Facilitates logistics for in-house litigation counsel, such as scheduling meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, travel arrangements, etc.
Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors, directing to appropriate individuals when needed

Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Bachelors degree is preferred.
Experience : 3-5 years of experience in insurance, claims or legal environment is preferred.
License(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : NALA or other similar certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Strong organizational skills and proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Ability and desire to become proficient using the Company’s claims, underwriting, and other IT systems.
Must have strong writing skills.
Demonstrates strong detail orientation and high level of accountability.
Ability to prioritize tasks without supervision
Administrative support and adaptability to handle diverse responsibilities are essential, with proficiency in computer applications and strong organizational skills highly valued.
