Our client is a fast-growing e-commerce fashion company located in Los Angeles & New York (a now public company). They are seeking is seeking a top performing, self-motivating, and strategic Head of Accounting to play a critical role in the growth and leadership of our Finance function.
This position will support the continuing integration as a public company, as well as help to build out and improve monthly close process, enhance control documentation and processes, and oversee all operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting team, including oversight of accounting operations and close coordination with its sister company, in the reporting of results and intercompany transactions.
- Play a key role in the development of a best-in-class, public company-caliber accounting function, driving change in policies, processes, and systems to ensure full SOX compliance.
- Oversee the month-end close process including the review of results, oversight of control and review procedures, collaboration with Finance and other business partners, and explanation of performance and variances to management.
- Support the audit, tax, and SOX requirements of our publicly traded parent company.
- Refine processes and manage reporting and reconciliations for key areas including revenue, inventory and COGS, and operating expenses.
- Manage the company’s net working capital including oversight of vendors and weekly payments, corporate credit cards, cash management, and forecasting.
- Oversee the Accounting team’s preparation of accurate and reliable financial reports with pertinent information and analysis on the operating segments of the business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to drive enhanced financial reporting accuracy and corporate strategic objectives, and foster a data-centric culture across the team and company.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 8+ years of accounting leadership experience including industry and 3 to 4 years working at a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm experience.
- CPA required.
- Familiarity with FASB GAAP codification, SOX control frameworks, and general public company modus operandi.
- Experience supporting, improving, and implementing public company-caliber business and accounting systems and processes.
- Ecommerce and consumer subscription experience (including exposure to inventory) is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management building and driving teams to successful outcomes.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, hands on player-coach with the ability to build and overhaul processes, take initiative, work independently and proactively, multi-task, and remain flexible with changing priorities.
- Experience with Netsuite, Tipalti, FloQast, BigQuery, and Brex preferred.
