Job Description
The Administrative & Fiscal Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Director on a wide range of projects, topics, and budget matters.
The Administrative & Fiscal Assistant is responsible for managing the day to day administrative operations of the Mentoring and Academic Achievement Office.
The primary responsibilities of the role include providing budget oversight and coordinationof two federally funded grants, including record keeping and file management, reconcilingand developing reports for several university budgets, scheduling and coordinatingmeetings, appointments, and student trainings, handling phone calls, greeting visitors, andmanaging all aspects of the office.
The Administrative & Fiscal Assistant is responsible for guiding first-generation and high-financial need students to campus resources as needed, making good decisions, and exercising sound judgment.
The incumbent will draft memorandums, letters and emails on behalf of the director and write policies and procedures that enable the department operations to run smoothly and efficiently.
The incumbent must be extremely well organized and detail oriented, have strong writing and communication skills. He / she must be able to see the big picture, among the details and determine priorities.
Strong organizational skills are essential along with budget management.Full Time Equivalent Hiring Range : $45, - $56,
Requirements
Minimum of a high school diploma with a high level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google applications, email and Internet skills.
Experience with People Soft HR and People Soft Financials a plus. A minimum of 2 years of increasingly greater responsibility for administrative and fiscal matters, ideally in a higher education setting.
Minimum requirements : A High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 2 years of administrative and / or fiscal support experience preferably in higher education
