Position Title : Intake Assessment Specialist I

Position Summary :
Seeking a Full Time Intake Specialist to join our dynamic team at TTC’s outpatient behavioral health facility in Long Beach.
Patient assessments are conducted utilizing the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria to assess for proper level of care.
Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the ASAM six dimensions and an understanding of levels of care in a SUD treatment setting.
Ideal candidate also will have a basic understanding and / or working knowledge of mental health diagnoses along with familiarity of Medi-Cal terminology and financial eligibility.
Experience with ASAM / SAPC Authorizations and / or Medi-Cal is preferred but not required. Applicant must be registered or certified with CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP in order to move forward in hiring process.

SALARY RANGE
$24.50 - $27 per hour DOE (Intake Assessment Specialist I)
$24.75 - $28.50 per hour DOE (Intake Assessment Specialist II)

HOURS
8 per Day / 5 Days per Week
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
Intake and screening of all inquiry calls for admission. Admitting new patients entering the program into the ASI / AVATAR under appropriate programs.
Assist in completing intake packet and chart records.
Verify for accuracy and completeness and enter admission or discharge into ASICSM / AVATAR.
Bill for all services provided by TTC at time of admission.
Counsel all patients on the facilities payment requirements and collection of rent.
State entry of required data elements to meet the requirements of the patient accounting system.
Maintain unit of service reports and data appropriate personnel; communicate Private Pay and Private Insurance statistics to Marketing Committee.
Keep calendar of all appointments, data report, Admission and Discharge reports to be turned in.
Collaborate with outside providers to assist with referrals and admissions.
Caseload list maintenance and distribution of patients. Maintain case conference log.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of individual’s job performance.
Other duties as assigned by Director and / or Administrator.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
Current enrollment in (Level I) or completion of (Level II) an academic Addiction Studies Program
Registration or Certification with a DADP- approved State level certification agency. Must be registered or certified upon hire.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Understand the use of UB92 billing format.
Understand the use of the HCFA 1500 billing format.
One (1) year prior admission experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare environment.
One (1) year continuous sobriety, if in recovery.
