Position Summary
Provides Interventional Vascular procedures according to established protocols or physician's special instructions. Provides diagnostic images of anatomic structures and records physiologic data utilizing ionizing radiation, giving the utmost attention to the needs of the patient and family with limited direct supervision.
Provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Scope of practice entails all aspects of support for the physician during interventional procedures - including scrubbing in to assist the physician in a sterile environment to the production of radiographs utilizing radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment located in the Interventional Lab as well as the main Radiology Department, and all portable x-ray units.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education : High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an approved two-year program in Radiologic Technology. Minimum Experience : Two years experience working as an Interventional Radiology Tech required.
Certification / Licensure : Holds and maintains current registry certificate of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Holds and maintains current New Mexico State Certificate as a Radiographic Radiologic Technologist. Certification in CV - Cardiovascular-Interventional (ARRT) is preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
