- JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
- Represents Samaritan Health Plan in the community and solicits clients for Samaritan Health Plan’s Medicare Advantage products and services via the broker distribution systems, group presentations, and direct sales.
Builds positive individual broker relationships through education of company products and services.

- Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures : InterCommunity Health Plans, Inc.
IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc.
offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services’ self-funded employee health benefit plan.

- EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance or business administration; or equivalent experience in marketing, business development and / or managing business to business relationships required.
- Two (2) years experience in a healthcare sales or account management related role required.
- Valid Oregon Health Insurance License required within 90 days of hire.
- Experience in the following required :
- Employee group benefits.
- MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in the following preferred :
- Sales, account management or health plan administration in the healthcare industry.
- Healthcare technical services / products, underwriting processes and / or contracts.
- Working in a brokerage / consultancy firm, insurance carrier, TPA or benefits administration environment.
- CRM tools (Salesforce.com or similar).

- Effective written and verbal communication skills to perform group presentations, tactfully discuss issues, and listen to and understand concepts, rules and procedures.
Ability to work with all levels within the organization, facilitate communication, and effectively document related activities.
- Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with key customers and referral sources.
- Ability to perform public speaking. Possess effective presentation skills.
