Who are we looking for?
GHD has a great opportunity for a Senior Environmental Project Manager- Scientist / Engineer to work from on of our offices in Northern CA, Sacramento, Roseville, Concord, Santa Rosa, or San Francisco as well as Irvine, CA.
Our team specializes in environmental engineering, waste management and water and are supported by our full-service engineering design center.
We complete contaminated site assessments and remediation, support brownfield redevelopment projects, provides environmental services to both public and private sector clients across the Americas.
We assess environmental impacts, complete risk assessments, and mitigate long term environmental risks through the development and monitoring of remedial systems and risk management measures.

Key responsibilities will include :
- Provide Senior Technical Leadership in project delivery, remedial design and operation and maintenance
- Manage projects including budgets, project teams and timelines
- Bid preparation, contractor selection, and contracting / procurement
- Perform design calculations, prepare drawings / specifications, and prepare estimates for remediation systems and other civil design projects
- Fieldwork planning and coordination of subcontractors during drilling, excavating, trenching, system construction, etc.
- Occasional fieldwork to collect remediation system samples and perform operation and maintenance of remediation systems
- Management and analysis of remediation system operational data
- Permit compliance tracking and reporting
- Perform engineering evaluation and optimization of existing remediation systems
- Report writing including engineering feasibility studies, remedial action plans, constructability analyses, and pilot test work plans and results reports, and system status reports
- Lead and work within multi-disciplinary project teams, distributing and sharing work to junior staff, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams
- Conduct environmental monitoring and environmental site assessments
- Establish, grow, and maintain client relationships
- Prepare technical environmental reports
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may at times entail supporting other GHD office locations
- Support / mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative environment
- Contribute to business planning to identify opportunities to grow GHD’s market share
What you will bring to the team :
- Experience in the technical delivery of contaminated site investigations and remediation, and environmental case closure
- Experience with managing clients and communications with regulators
- Understanding of Federal and State environmental regulations
- Experience working with the RWQCB, DTSC, and EPA
- Excellent communication and report writing skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong commitment to client service excellence
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 15+ years-experience, including 3 to 5 years of project management experience in a client-facing role
- Current Civil PE registration in California Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency in AutoDesk CADD preferred
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
