The Clinical Resource Specialist is a Registered Nurse responsible for the overall education, development, and training of clinical staff through collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
The Specialist is also responsible for coordination of departments quality processes. Will be responsible for conducting individual and group staff educational programs;
including orientation, inservices, workshops and development of educational materials. They will also participate in outreach education as requested.
The Specialist will provide hands on training, evaluate competency and perform clinical care when necessary. The Specialist functions independently and in collaboration with other health care providers as a leader in evidence based practices.
They are responsible to identify, develop and initiate best practices related to nursing care within their area of practice.
They are responsible to assist in the initiation of annual research projects related to nursing care

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Masters of Science in Nursing or related discipline (exception with CNO approval). De-escalation training, if applicable.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents.
Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Position Summary :
The Clinical Resource Specialist is a Masters prepared Registered Nurse responsible for the overall education, development, and training of clinical staff through collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
The role may also include direct and indirect patient care.
The scope of this position includes assisting with the orientation program, development and coordination of the annual credentialing process, assisting in education and evaluation of new products.
This position is also responsible for designing and implementing in-services and educational programs for Erlanger staff and other health care providers.
The Specialist is responsible for evaluating staff competency, in collaboration with Department leadership, to ensure staff members have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
The Specialist must also be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide education to adult learners
The Clinical Resource Specialist will demonstrate clinical expertise in the role and serve as a resource person in collaborating with the leadership / management team to maintain and upgrade standards of care.
The specialist will facilitate complex patient / parent education as needed in coordination with nursing and medical staff.
The Clinical Resource Specialist must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
The Clinical Resource Specialist will demonstrate clinical expertise in the role as a resource person in coordinating and implementing researched based projects.
They must be able to identify, research, initiate and monitor evidenced based best practices.
