THE ROLE :

EBONY Media is seeking a strategic and experienced seller to join the sales team as Senior Director. The team is seeking an individual with proven sales experience and an outstanding track record of selling innovative media and marketing programs to agencies and clients direct.

The Senior Director will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships in addition to acquiring new clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :

  • Grow and maintain existing relationships with clients while seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Design and implement strategic plans to reach sales targets.
  • Partner with internal teams including brand solutions, ad operations, and pricing and planning to devise comprehensive media and sponsorship packages that include innovative and creative brand solutions.
  • Track and manage financials on all assigned accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, campaign management and invoicing, etc.
  • Draw from experience in platform selling (data, audiences, products) to accelerate revenue growth.
  • Draft detailed and accurate sales reports.
  • Respond proactively to all requests, RFPS, and critical deadlines from clients and agencies.
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, operate efficiently and communicate effectively with a range of executives, department teams, and clients.
  • Ability to travel based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience with background in selling multi-platform, media, and marketing programs
  • Experience at a high energy, fast paced start up.
  • Proven track record of successfully working with brands to create, negotiate and execute best-in-class integrated marketing programs and promotions, including branded content, custom editorial, experiential / events, and talent alignment.
  • Excellent relationships with clients, capable of navigating all key decision makers at client direct and agencies.
  • Data-driven seller with experience managing the sales cycle and driving high performance and engagement from large, complex accounts.
  • Experience with CRM, customer life cycles and retention strategies
  • Deep understanding of the digital media industry with the ability to credibly articulate strategic insights for clients that are based on data and research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
